CONSULTATIONS

 

In addition to full representation, I offer consultations to review a divorce settlement agreement drafted by your spouse’s attorney.  I will also review an already prepared and executed will and other simple estate planning documents for you and advice you as to whether or not they are valid or should be updated.  If I later do draft documents for you, I will deduct the cost of the consultation from the final fee for my services.

 

If your spouse comes with you on the initial consultation for divorce, I will not charge extra to discuss the settlement agreement with you both.  However, if a separate appointment needs to be made to sit down and formally negotiate the settlement agreement with you both I will charge a separate fee.  Please note that your spouse must be willing to sign a waiver allowing me to legally give advice to both of you before I can talk to them either on the phone or in person.

 

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO CHARGE A PORTION OF THE FEE UPFRONT AT THE INITIAL CONSULTATION AND I RETAIN THE FEE AS A CONSULTATION FEE IF WE DO NOT CONTINUE WITH THE PROCESS.  I WILL NOTIFY YOU OF THE AMOUNT THAT WILL NEED TO BE PAID BUT IT WILL NOT EXCEED HALF OF THE TOTAL COST.
